Day 6 - Cupcakes (intermediate)- Ariela

 

Cupcakes - Intermediate group

We started the day off by splitting into three groups for our three cupcakes: humming bird, strawberry, and chocolate. Since we only had one set of pans we had to take turns making the cake. while the first group was making the cake, the rest of us were working on the frosting. We had buttercream frosting and cream cheese frosting. We started off by collecting all of our ingrediants and then began to make the frosting in the mixers.

once the group was finished making their batter, they began scooping onto the pan and put them in the oven for 20 minutes. While their cakes where in the oven, the rest of us began to collect the ingrediants fro our batter. once we had our ingrediants, we began to mix the batter. we made sure to be cleaning our statioss as we were baking. Once our batter was done, the other groups cakes were finshed so we were able to wadh the pans and start scoopin our batter into the pan. while our cakes were in the oven, we all began to clean the kitchen and take a break. when they wer eout of the oven we took them out to cool off.

while the cakes were cooling we took about 30 minutes to prepare for our showcasing. we all took turn heating our food up and plating it nicely. one by one everyone presented there dishes and set them outside. we had enough food for everyone to get to try, as well as teachers and administrators to get to try. once everyone had presented, we took a lunch break

by the time we finished lunch, the cakes were cooled off. we first cleaned the entire kitchen up form the showcasing. then Chef Jessica taught us how to properly frost a cupcake. We all got to practice frosting and decorating our cupcakes. we gave cupcakes to some teachers who wanted to try and packed the rest up and brought it to the high school to give away.

At school we got together and journaled, and discussed as a group how we were going to organize our slideshow fr the big presentation. That was the end of our sixth day and we are grateful for everything we learned and very excited for tomorrow!
